Bethlehem Lutheran opens doors to public
Bethlehem Lutheran School will be opening its doors to the public for National Lutheran Schools Week during its Spring Open House 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday. The school, 1837 Mountain St., has more than 170 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grades. Call 882-5252 ext. 100.
'Caveman' comedy coming to Brewery
The Brewery Arts Center presents "Defending the Caveman," the longest running solo play in Broadway history. Actor Isaak Lamb will star as the Caveman. Show days and times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
"Defending the Caveman" is a comedy about the ways men and women relate and is an international hit with productions in 30 countries.
Comedian Rob Becker wrote "Defending the Caveman" over a three-year period during which he made an informal study of anthropology, prehistory, psychology, sociology and mythology. It played for two years on Broadway.
Tickets are $32 for preferred seating and $25 for balcony. BAC members, seniors, and students receive a $3 discount. Tickets may be purchased at the Brewery Arts Center at 883-1976 or at www.breweryarts.org.

Minden theater group seeking director intern for production
A Minden-based theater arts group, The Dakota Organization, is seeking applicants for the position of directing intern for an upcoming production. This unpaid position will teach an intern about many aspects of directing for the stage, including processes related to auditions and casting, rehearsals, technical elements and other various production needs.
The play, "Sylvia" by A. R. Gurney, will be directed by Rod Hearn, an experienced actor and director, last seen in The Dakota Organization's production of "Lips Together, Teeth Apart." Auditions are slated for April, with performances in July.
Applicants should have evening availability and be eager to learn the elements of play production. The Dakota Organization hopes to develop more directing talent in the Carson Valley.
Interviews will take place by appointment on Saturday. Applicants should call 450-0155.

Free two-way pass on St. Patrick's Day
Those planning to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Saturday can obtain a free two-ride pass on RTC RIDE in Reno by calling 348-RIDE by Wednesday. Passes will be delivered via U.S. Postal Service. The Northern Nevada DUI Task Force is sponsoring these free rides to prevent traffic fatalities and injuries due to alcohol.
Eddie Money plays at Sparks casino
