Richard Duane Ball, 73, a 10-year Dayton resident, died March 5, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Ball was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Oakland, Calif., to Lenwood Ball and Irene Reinhartd.
He married Margaret Karppi on Feb. 22, 1963.
Before moving to Dayton, Mr. Ball lived at South Lake Tahoe.
He graduated high school in Oakland in 1951, and attended the University of Pacific at Stockton, Calif.
He was the owner of Boat Doctor, and was a school bus driver in Douglas County.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling and traveling by RV.
Among his survivors are his wife, of Dayton; daughters and sons-in-law Marja and Michael Ambler of South Lake Tahoe and Marjorie and Jeff Rispin of Dayton; and two grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association in Sparks, or the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
