The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• Jeremy Dean Newman, 33, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 7:56 p.m. in the 200 block of West Winnie Lane on suspicion of felony passing a forged check. Also arrested was Kevin Harward, 32, of Carson City, on felony passing a forged check and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. The two men allegedly learned a liquor store that didn't ask for identification when cashing checks, and so they cashed several there before the owner caught on, according to the report. Harward's bail was set at $7,970 and Newman's bail was set at $7,500.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:
• Fraud reports in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East and 400 block of Eagle Station Lane.
• Vehicle injury report in the 1400 block of East Long Street at 8:36 a.m.
• Vehicle injury report on Camille Drive at 9:09 a.m.
• Residential burglary report in the 800 block of Saliman Road at 1:49 p.m.
• Accidents on North Roop Street at 2:51 p.m. and East John Street at 5:51 p.m.
• Threat report on South Carson Street at 10:10 p.m.
Storey County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:
• Motorcycle accident on State Route 341 at 6:33 a.m.
• Arrest at Storey County Sheriff's Office at 11:28 a.m.
• Fight report on South C Street at 8:23 p.m.
