South Lake Tahoe - Investigators continue to look into the deaths of Stanley and Shirley Reinert, a couple who were found dead Saturday in a house on Bruce Street.
An autopsy is scheduled for today. Afterward, a press statement will likely be released, said South Lake Tahoe police Sgt. Jeff Regan.
Regan said detectives still had interviews to conduct and thus kept details limited. A gun was involved, he said.
Regan declined or did not have the answers to where the bodies were found, where the gun was found, what type of gun it is, whether the couple had a history of violence or illness, the time between the couple died and when they were found and whether it was a murder-suicide.
Authorities have ruled the deaths as suspicious.
An Internet search revealed Stanley's age as 68 and Shirley's as 69. A criminal and civil check at El Dorado County Superior Court revealed nothing more than a traffic ticket for Stanley in 2002.
Those familiar with the investigation said the scene was unsightly. Regan said the house was kept and nothing looked disturbed.
A neighbor checked on the residence when a daughter requested a welfare check on her parents but found nothing out of the ordinary.
