A memorial service for Charles Stanley "Stan" Peters, 77, a lifelong Carson City resident, will be 2 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mr. Peters died March 20, 2007, at his home. He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Carson City, to Leale Peters and Alva Imelli Peters.
He was past president twice of the Carson Douglas Lyon Tahoe Board of Realtors and was recognized as Realtor of the Year by that board twice. He was the 1996 recipient of the Joe Nolan Memorial Award for the Nevada Association of Realtors. He was a broker and salesman with RE/Max Realty Affiliates.
He served in the Nevada Army Reserves retiring as a full colonel.
He served on the Carson City School Board for 10 years and had served on the Carson City Planning Commission for five years. He was also a volunteer fireman with the Warren Engine Company.
Among his survivors are his wife, Barbara Peters of Carson City; daughter Connie Hines of Arizona; daughter and son-in-law Chris Peters and Milt Fogliani of Carson City; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Kay Brady of Carson City; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 18653 Wedge Parkway, Reno, NV, 89511.
