The third annual Builders' Association of Western Nevada (BAWN) Sporting Clay Shoot, a benefit for the Edd P. Furgerson Scholarship Fund for WNCC's Construction Trades Program, will take place Saturday, March 31 at the Capitol City Gun Club.
The Capitol City Gun Club is located at 3850 Arrowhead Drive in Carson City.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the clay shoot beginning at 10 am.
A Bar-B-Que lunch will follow with prizes awarded to the top three teams of five shooters each as well as an award to the over-all individual winner or "Top Gun".
The entry fee of $100 per person or $500 per team includes 100 rounds of ammo and the lunch.
BAWN has been actively involved with funding scholarships for high school students in the construction trades program at Carson, Douglas and Fernley High Schools for years.
Students earn college credit for classes towards a degree in construction management that beginning next fall, will be WNCC's first four-year bachelor's degree program. The curriculum had previously been offered as a two-year associate's degree program.
BAWN is a professional organization of over 600 members representing the building industry in promoting the highest standards in construction, education and fair legislation for the benefit of our communities.
The association meets monthly (except June-August) on the third Tuesday of the month at the Gold Dust West Carson City (formerly the Pinon Plaza, located on East Highway 50 in Carson City).
