Vondrak also received solid support from her defense as Carson made no errors. "Cassie was on fire," Carson coach Scott Vickrey said. "She hit her spots."
Also for Carson, Christa Casci had a hit and two runs, Candice Rutledge had a hit and two RBI, Vondrak helped her own cause by going 2-for-3, Burroughs had two hits and Nikki Keller added a hit.
Vickrey also said he liked how aggressive his team was on the bases as it had several steals.
"Everybody's hitting the ball fairly well," Vickrey said. "We helped ourselves out by being aggressive on the bases."
