A memorial service for Blanche "Mardine" Lewis, 85, a Rush Springs, Okla., resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating.
Mrs. Lewis died March 24, 2007, in Chickasha, Okla. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Amity, Ark., to Robert Mowery and Maggie Jones Mowery.
She graduated from Rush Springs High School. She married Vernon Eugene Lewis on Sept. 6, 1939, in Lawton, Okla.
Before returning to Rush Springs she lived in California.
She was a dietary aide for a California school and a Nurses' Aide for the Veterans Affairs center.
She taught Sunday school and made underclothes for the Baptist Children's Home. She was a member of the Women Missionary and support Missionaries, and the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 28, 1996.
Among her survivors are son and daughter-in-law Walter Allen Lewis and Sue Lewis of Minden; daughters Patsy "Pat" Jean Hillson of San Francisco and Nancy Louise Joyce of Newington, Conn.; sister Bertha Bryant of Hasting, Okla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place at the Rush Springs Cemetery.
