The Bureau of Land Management will be opening the BLM campground adjacent to Indian Creek Reservoir at 8 a.m. Monday. Fees for camping will be the same they have been since the 2005 season and are similar to other facilities in the area.

An RV or single-tent site is $20 per night and a double site is $32 per night. Additional vehicles are free. A tent-area single site is $14 a night and a double is $20 a night. A group area is $50 a night. The sanitary dump station is $10 per vehicle per use, and showers are for paying campers only.

Recycled Art(icles) show returns to college

Last year more than 50 local artists used their talent, imagination and junk to create paintings, sculptures, and indescribable "things" at Western Nevada Community College's Recycled Art(icles) show. The contest is back at the Main and College Galleries Tuesday through April 19.

The object of the contest is to illustrate the phrase, "One person's trash is another person's treasure." Entries must be composed of recycled materials, and the materials must consist of things that have been previously used for something else. The contest is open to students, college staff and the community. Awards will be presented at an artists' reception 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 19. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($100), Most Creative ($75), and Most Useful ($75).

Entries will be displayed in the WNCC Bristlecone Building's Main and College galleries. This year's event is sponsored by the WNCC United Students Association, the WNCC Art department, and the Recycled Art fan club volunteers. Call 445-3274.

Reno artists' group stages April show

"Reflections of Earth & Sky," a unique mixture of watercolor paintings and wood turnings by husband and wife artists Jean and Dale Hare, will be featured throughout the month of April at the Artists Co-Op of Reno, 627 Mill St. The public is invited to meet these two native Nevadans at a reception 1-4 p.m. today at the gallery.

Reno Philharmonic will end season

The Reno Philharmonic will end the 38th Season of MasterClassics with concerts at 4 p.m. today and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The concert will offer Duke Ellington's Suite from "The River," as well as Hector Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique."

Guest artist harpist Jeremy Keppelmann will perform George Frideric Handel's "Concerto for Harp."
