Dayton High class of '97 to hold reunion
Dayton High School class of 1997 will hold a 10-year reunion July 28. The day includes an afternoon of fun and a picnic and barbecue from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Zephyr Cove Resort. Cost is $10 for the family; bring your own refreshments.

Memorial service honors fallen law enforcement officers
The 10th annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Capitol Mall memorial. The delivery of a runner's baton, being relayed by peace officers from Las Vegas to Carson City, will feature in the ceremony.
Washoe to celebrate Cinco de Mayo
The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Head Start program will celebrate Cinco de Mayo from 3-9 p.m. Friday at the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Stewart Head Start, 465 Clear Creek Ave. The theme is "Together We Will Share Our Cultures."
The event is to promote understanding between the American Indian and Hispanic cultures. The celebration will benefit the children of the Head Start program and the community.

Reno band celebrates release of latest CD
Come for the music, leave with a new CD. Reno-based band Sol'Jibe hosts the release of it latest collection of eclectic, acoustic-based songs, "New Day," Thursday in Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks. Tickets are $15 and include a copy of "New Day."
"New Day" draws upon the band's fascination of all things Latin and its rhythmic accompaniment Sol'Jibe consists of Milton Merlos, flamenco guitar, Tim Snider, vocals/violin/guitar, Cody Remaklus, percussion, Jonathan Phillips, sax, and Fernando Flores, bass.
