Carson JV baseball finishes with split

The Carson High junior varsity baseball team finished the season by splitting a doubleheader on Saturday against Damonte Ranch, losing the opener 16-6 and winning the nightcap 6-1.

David Perce went the distance for the win in the nightcap, pitching a four-hitter while striking out 11 and walking none for Carson (22-11, 13-8 in the Sierra League). For the doubleheader, Blake Plattsmier was 6-for-7 with three RBI, Tyler Hutchins was 4-for-4 with three RBI, Cody Barr was 3-for-4 with two RBI, Tom Purcell was 1-for-2 with an RBI, Dom Mariani went 2-for-4 with RBI, Brooks Hutchins had two hits and Dustin Buttner, Jeff Davies, Jeff Butler and Brett Allen all added a hit.
