Letha Lorrene Lowe, 86, a Gardnerville resident for the past 10 years, died May 15, 2007, in Carson City. She was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Greeley, Colo., to Cecil T. and Lena Stahl Harris.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived at South Lake Tahoe for 40 years.
Mrs. Lowe was owner of a secretarial service.
She was director and president of South Tahoe Public Utility District, manager and president of South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, lifetime member and past president of Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe, chairwoman and lifetime member of the Lake Tahoe Historical Society and a member of the board of trustees of Tahoe Paradise College.
She was preceded in death by son Daniel Spanner.
Among her survivors are daughter and son-in-law Lynda and Bill Teglia of Gardnerville; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. Inurnment will be at Happy Homestead Cemetery at South Lake Tahoe at a later date.
