A private service for David W. Miller, 70, longtime Carson City resident, was May 20 with Chaplain Dan Drianan presiding.
Mr. Miller died May 19, 2007, at his home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Muncie, Ind., to William T. and Florence C. Miller.
After their deaths in a fire, he was raised in the McKinley Home for Boys in California.
He married Jacque P. Reich on May 18, 1956, in Las Vegas.
Mr. Miller graduated from UCLA.
He retired from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Among his survivors are his wife; son David D. Miller and fiancee Holly Gold; daughters Sindy S. Miller and April A. Miller; son-in-law Brent Cutting; sisters Levina Goodro, Kathy Ziemer and Joan Warnock; grandchildren David C. Miller, Alyssa A. Cutting and Jake L. Cutting; and 12 extended-family members.
Cremation was at Capitol City Cremation.
