Visitation for Barry Leo Williams, 59, a Carson City, South Lake Tahoe and Salinas, Calif., resident, will be 10 a.m. today with a funeral to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Struve & Laporte Funeral Home in Salinas.

Mr. Williams died May 26, 2007, at his home in Carson City. He was born in Rush City, Minn., to Lloyd Leo and Eleanor Williams.

He grew up in Duluth, Minn., where he married Jan Larson in 1967.

Mr. Williams worked at Clyde Ironworks as a machinist and graduated from electronic technical school.

After training in the Spanish language, he joined the U.S. Border Patrol in 1970 and moved to California. He was initially stationed in El Centro and later assigned to Salinas where he worked for many years before retiring in 1997.

He was also interested in real estate, woodworking and antiques. He was part owner of an antique shop in Carmel Valley for many years. He enjoyed barbecues, family, his two cats, watching hockey, biking and hiking.

Among his survivors are his wife; son Jay B. of Las Vegas; daughter and son-in-law Tricia and Matt Maldonado of Salinas; mother of Las Vegas; brother and sister-in-law Lloyd E. and Rosemary of Las Vegas; sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and William Finney of Santa Monica, Calif.; sister-in-law Patricia Larson of Duluth; grandchildren Jenna and Trevor Maldonado and numerous extended-family members.

A graveside service will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Salinas.
