Three Blonde Moms play at Minden Inn


The "Tonight" show's quirky Maryellen Hooper, "The Drew Carey Show's" perky Joanie Fagan and The Style Network's sassy Helen Keaney are the 3 Blonde Moms and their comedy show returns to the Carson Valley Inn Shannon Ballroom today and Saturday.


The Carson Valley Inn is at 1627 Highway 395 in Minden. Call 782-9711.




Fundraiser tickets on sale now


Purchase tickets for the Dec. 1 Farewell Tour Fundraiser for Greg Gooch is Nov. 21. The fundraiser at the Johnson Lane Fire Station, 1450 Stephanie Way.


Greg has terminal cancer and all proceeds go to Greg and his sons to take a last family vacation to visit relatives.


Donations can be dropped off at North Sails Nevada, 2379 Heybourne Road.

Learn to shop for meat at WNC


Meat Shopping Guide, one of the many community education fall classes still available at Western Nevada College, will meet Wednesdays and Fridays beginning today through Nov. 16.


Wednesday sessions will meet 7-9 p.m. and Friday sessions will meet 5:30-7:30 p.m. Cost is $65.

Minden group to stage 'The Nerd'


The Dakota Organization presents "The Nerd" today through Sunday at the CVIC Hall in Minden. This is the story of a young man wounded in Vietnam who is saved by a man he never saw.

Historical society giving away law books, documents


The Nevada Historical Society will give away a surplus of deaccessioned obsolete Law books and federal documents noon-4 p.m. today.


These items will be offered to the public on the front lawn of the Nevada Historical Society. In case of inclement weather the event will be held in the lobby. The Nevada Historical Society is at 1650 N. Virginia St. in Reno. Call 687-8323.
