Lyon Commissioners to mull connection fee hike

The Lyon County commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider increasing connection fees for Utilities customers at a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lyon Utilities Building, 34 Lakes Blvd., Dayton.

Dayton water and sewer, and Mound House water connection fees could be increased.

Utilities Director Mike Workman said increases might be necessary because of the slowdown in the housing market. The department has cut back on capital improvement projects as much as possible, he said.
