Staff Report

Nevada Revised Statutes require that all livestock brands registered with the State Department of Agriculture, be re-recorded every four years.

All holders of registered Nevada livestock brands have been sent a notice and invoice that their brand is about to expire. If any brand owner has not received an invoice from the Elko office of the Department of Agriculture, they should call 738-8076 and report their current address.

A registered brand is a cow's or horse's return address. The Department regularly gets calls for identification of stray livestock and there are cases daily, on Nevada's open ranges and in more suburban areas as well.
