Talent show Wednesday at Community Center
The Carson High School Talent show is this evening at the Carson Community Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person at the door, or $2 for those with a student body card.
Brewery to host 'Anniversary Carols'
The Brewery Arts Center presents "Anniversary Carols" with Bella Voce on Friday. The annual show focuses on Christmas favorites.
"Anniversary Carols" is the group's the annual holiday concert. Bella Voce celebrates the 10th anniversary of artistic director Jennifer Tibben-Lembke with the ensemble.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall at the Brewery Arts Center, 511 W. King St. Tickets are $15 for all seating. A $3 discount is available for BAC members, students and seniors. Call 883-1976 or visit www.breweryarts.org.
Dickens-theme family dance benefits shelter
Pioneer Family Dance in conjunction with DeeDee Foremaster's Dickens Faire will hold a benefit dance 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Mall, 1313 S. Carson St.
The event is to benefit the Homeless Shelter. Pioneer Family Dance will be dressed in Dickens-era clothing.
The faire will have entertainment, food, games, gift wrapping and baked goods for sale. Singing telegrams for order to be delivered Dec. 17-21 will be available.

Church hosts holiday tour of six homes
A Christmas Home Tour of six homes hosted by Hilltop Community Church will be 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $10 and will benefit the Women's Ministry Comfort Baskets for families that have lost children.

Parade of Lights set for Saturday along 395
Celebrate the season at the Annual Parade of Lights 5 - 7 p.m. Saturday along Highway 395 between Lampe Park to Minden Park.
Local businesses, community organizations and individuals will enter illuminated floats, antique cars, animals, bands and other creative mobile objects into this event in the hopes of capturing a coveted award in one of the following categories: Youth Service Club-Nonprofit, County Government, Best Theme/Creative, Best Business or Best Overall.
Club seeks gift donations for isolated seniors
The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club, in conjunction with Douglas County Senior Center and assistance from the students of Gardnerville Elementary School, is preparing Christmas gift bags for the 84 recipients of Meals-on-Wheels. Most Meals-on-Wheels recipients live alone, and in some cases, it is the only Christmas gift they may receive. In order to complete the bags, donations of small gifts such as sample-size shampoo, conditioner and lotion, lip balm, playing cards, candy, wash cloths, hand towels, socks and ornaments. Sugar-free candy for 18 diabetic clients is also needed. Drop donations off at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane or call 783-6455 or 782-6583 for pick up.
