Dayton artist picked to create print

Steven Saylor, of Dayton, has been commissioned by Nevada first Lady Dawn Gibbons to create a painting and limited edition Giclee pront to benefit Autism Services in the state.

The painting will portray a July 1909 ribbon-cutting ceremony held on the steps of the Governors Mansion and will incude six living governors of Nevada, Gibbons and Gov. Denver Dickerson and his wife, Una, the first to live in the mansion. It will also show a number of celebrities who have a connection to either Nevada or autism, all of whom will be shown in period costumes, as well as ranchers, cowboys, servicemen, miners, train engineers and more.

Each governor will sign the prints, which wil then be sold to benefit Autism Services.
