DOUGLAS AT DAMONTE RANCH, 7:30 P.M. TODAY
The Douglas High football team will try to rebound against Damonte Ranch tonight after last week's 21-7 loss to Reno.
The Tigers, now ranked No. 5 in the Sierra Nevada Sports Media Poll, travel to Damonte tonight for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
Douglas is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league play. Damonte is 2-4 overall and 1-2 in league, but gave Hug a run for its money last week in a 26-25 loss.
The Mustangs are led by quarterback Ray Daniels, who ranks seventh in the north with 499 passing yards and six touchdowns, receiver Kelton Hall (nine catches, 116 yards) and running back Brian Walsh (92 carries, 433 yards, five touchdowns).
Douglas comes in with the top defense in the region, allowing a total of 231 yards per game.
David Laird comes in with 729 yards passing and six touchdowns and Brock Peterson enters as the No. 3 rusher in the region at 598 yards and eight touchdowns.

GALENA VS. ELKO,
7:30 P.M. TODAY
The Grizzlies (6-0, 3-0) will be the overwhelming favorite against the winless Indians. The Grizzlies are the second-best offense in Northern 4A at 32.8 points and 427 yards per game. Quarterback Jacob Anderson has thrown for 1,403 yards this season and his 15 touchdown passes lead the Northern 4A.
Anderson has several targets including Jason Parkinson, who is the Grizzlies' top receiver with 38 catches for 562 yards and five touchdowns and Steve Blackhart has 20 grabs for 371 yards and three scores.
On the ground, the Grizzlies depend on running back Pete Lazzari to move the ball down the field. He averages 6.7 yards per carry and has four trips to the end zone this season. Ryan Howsley, Jarrod Faust and Jake Hess are also dangerous backs and each have 28 or more carries.
DAYTON AT LOWRY, 7 P.M. TODAY
The Dust Devils (3-2) will try to rebound from their Northern 3A opening 42-0 loss last week at Spring Creek. Dayton and Lowry met earlier in the year at Dayton in a nonleague game. The Dust Devils won 6-0 despite committing nine turnovers. Dayton held Lowry to 35 total yards. Tonight's game is a league contest.
Dayton has a solid running game with Trace Feemster and Brandon Aguilera while quarterback Cory Lindberg directs the attack. Among the defensive leaders is Anthony Onstott.
