Corner looks to stay hot

Let's start with a couple of random thoughts this week. The first is that the two teams currently playing the best football in their respective conferences are the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys.

These two teams will meet next week in the most anticipated game of this young season, but is it possibly a Super Bowl preview? I am not sure NFL fans could handle two meetings between Randy Moss and Terrell Owens, but right now it is a possibility.

Next, Raiders' fans get excited, get very, very excited. There is new blood flowing through the organizations veins, and it is completely possible that the Raiders could win the AFC West division. Why not?

The San Diego Chargers are playing like their entire coaching staff left late in the off season, oh, well actually it did. The Broncos and Chiefs have the same record as the Raiders, so this division is open to any team hungry enough to take it, and that team may wear silver and black.

Ok last week was good, yeah it was real good. It was a three win week and no losses. That brings the season record to 7-4-1, and the roll-over pick has won the past two weeks brining the ticket up to more than $80.

This week is different than last in that when I look at the numbers this week there really is only one number that jumps out and says take me. So not only will I take it, it will be the roll-over pick.

The game is the Detroit Lions at the Washington Redskins, the line favors the home team 'Skins by 3 1/2 and the total is 46. The number that jumps out is the total, 46, and if you shop around you could get 46 1/2. I like the under in this game.

The Redskins quite possibly have the best secondary in the game which should force the Lions to run the ball more than they would like while the Redskins will be happy to use their running game to keep possession of the ball and keep the chains moving. Take the under and lets hope that neither team's defense or special teams scores.

The next pick will probably upset a friend of mine, but I like the Packers against the Bears. The game is being played in Green Bay and favors the Pack by 3 1/2 with a total of 40 1/2. Can you believe the Packers are winning games with their defense?

They are undefeated and Brett Favre is having fun playing the game again. The Bears are a mess and it just doesn't look like there are any solutions to their problems. Lay the points and watch the cheese-heads stay perfect.

With the last pick this week I will have to take a home underdog. The pick is the Kansas City Chiefs and they are getting anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 points, so it would be important to shop around for the best number. The Chiefs had an impressive second half last week and may be starting to come together as a team. I'll take the home team and look for the best line I can find.
