RENO " ExpressJet Airlines on Monday announced it will offer nonstop flights between Reno and cities in California, Arizona and Washington.
The carrier said service to and from Long Beach, Los Angeles, Tucson and Spokane is expected to begin Nov. 11.
"The addition of ExpressJet gives us new nonstop service to and from four great markets just in time for the start of ski season," said John Wagnon, chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. "This is terrific news for our region."
Jim Ream, ExpressJet president and chief executive officer, said Reno-Tahoe is the right-sized market for airline's fleet of 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft.
"We can provide value by saving our Reno-Tahoe customers time and making their travel more convenient," Ream said.
The company said it expects to hire 10 to 15 employees in Reno.
ExpressJet is a Houston-based regional airline that recently operated as Continental Express.
