Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama's Nevada campaign is opening four new offices in the state including one in Carson City.

Officials said it is part of a significant expansion as the campaign moves into the final three months before the Nevada caucuses. National campaign manager David Plouffe said Obama now has more than 50 field staff in the state.

In addition to Carson City, the campaign is opening offices in North Las Vegas, Southwest Las Vegas and Pahrump. All four openings are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13.

"We are focused on building a true precinct-level grassroots organization in each of the 1,754 precincts in Nevada," said Plouffe in the announcement.

Assemblwoman Sheila Leslie will conduct the opening of the Obama for America Carson City office at 172 W. Winnie Lane. The event is set for 3 p.m. and the public is invited.
