Despite the victim's refusal to talk, a Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night for stabbing his girlfriend in the buttocks.
Jose Carlos Escobar, 26, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, police were called to the 1000 block of North Saliman Road at 7:50 p.m. on a report of a domestic battery.
They got the apartment, they saw a woman with a "black-and-blue" left eye and a puffy right eye.
"(The victim) would not tell me anything," wrote Deputy Richard Batien in his report.
However a witness told deputies that the victim had told her Escobar had "beat her up" and stabbed her in the buttocks. The victim then showed the witness the wound, according to the report. It is unclear where the alleged assault took place.
At some point, Escobar confronted the witness with a knife, put it to the witness' face and told him "not to get involved."
Escobar allegedly fled the scene and was located sometime later with his battered girlfriend by his side on Monte Rosa Drive, the report states. The girlfriend still refused to speak to officers, according to the report.
Escobar is being held on $33,000 bail.
