A Fernley man was found guilty Wednesday by a Lyon County jury on three counts of sexual assault of a child, announced Lyon County District Attorney Bob Auer.

Joshua Lockwood, 29, molested the 8-year-old daughter of a family friend on numerous occasions between April 2004 and September 2006 in Fernley.

According to Lyon County Sheriff's Detective John Mac, the girl told a friend, the friend then told her own mother, and that mother called police.

Lockwood has been in custody since his arrest April 12 on a warrant.

Lockwood faces a sentence of life with a minimum of 20 years for each count when sentenced Dec. 3.
