Carson JV boys take second in meet

The Carson High boys junior varsity cross country team had an impressive showing at the Spanish Springs Invitational on Friday.

The meet was for varsity teams that didn't qualify Thursday's Northern 4A Championships and JV squads. Carson's JV boys finished second behind Hug's varsity, which won the meet. Carson coach Pete Sinnott said it was an impressive finish for his team to place ahead of Galena's JVs, which took third.

For Carson's JV boys, Brent Moyle was fourth, covering the 3.1-mile course in 20 minutes, five seconds and Evan Richards was seventh in 20:34. Both were awarded medals for placing in the top 10.

Also for Carson, David McMasters fnished in 21:08, Tyler Davies finished in 21:37, Brandon Bournacorsi finished in 21:57, Andrew Richards finished in 22:19, Jonathan Lanuza finished in 22:59, Noel Lopez finished in 23;16, Josiah Toral finished in 23;24 and Brandon O'Keefe finished in 24:29.

For Carson's girls, Kristen Dockery took fourth and Sarah Reiter also ran well.
