Garrett Clayton won four titles to lead a solid effort by the Carson Tigersharks Swim Club at the Ted Dorsey Fall Classic in Reno over the weekend.
Clayton had an outstanding time of four minutes, 42.47 seconds in winning the 15-18 boys 400-yard individual medley. Clayton also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:055.42, the 200 breaststroke in 2:20.90 and th 200 I.M. in 2:09.15.
Among others who had outstanding meets were Paul Chang and Jacob Cornwell, who both won titles in 15-18 boys. Chang won the 50 breaststroke in 31.76 and Cornwell won the 200 backstroke in 2:17.23. Cornwell also finished second in the 50 back in 29.14 while Chang was third in the 100 free in 53.49 and fourth in the 50 free in 24.62.
In addition for the Tigersharks, Julie Asire was third in the girls 15-18 1,000 free in 11:24.05. Tatum Boehnke set personal bests in all her races. Among her highlights was a fourth place finish in the 15-18 girls 400 I.M., in 4:56.20.
Others who had outstanding meets were Stella Carroll in 9-10 girls, Katie Fischer in 8 and under girls and Nick Fischer in 8 and under boys.
The Tigersharks will next host the Nevada State Championships to be held November 9-12 at the Carson Aquatic Facility. Six-hundred swimmers from across the state will swim in the meet.
