A celebration of life for Caliel Rex Shoaf, 72, a 34-year resident of Carson City will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel in Carson City.
Mr. Shoaf died Sept. 8, 2007, in Virginia City. He was born June 24, 1935, to Caliel Shoaf and Martha Menley in Essex, Mo. He lived in Granada Hills, Calif., prior to moving to Carson City. He married Rebecca Jane Baumgardner on July 29, 1961, in Las Vegas. He graduated from high school. He owned Hickory Inc. for 40 years.
He enjoyed old Western movies, Virginia City, antiques, working in the yard, going to church, boxing and his grandchildren.
Among his survivors are his wife of 46 years; sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Carmen Shoaf and Michael and Stacey Shoaf; daughter and son-in-law Kelli and Danton Vidovich; brother and sister-in-law Vernon and Beverly Shoaf; sister and brother-in-law Becky and Jerry MacKezie; 13 grandchildren and numerous aunts and uncles.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
