Irene Alice Hansen

A memorial service for Irene Alice Hansen, 86, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Autumn Funerals and Cremations.

Mrs. Hansen died Sept. 24, 2007. She was born on Sept. 11, 1921, to George and Dora Lake, in Norwich, Conn. She attended schools in Connecticut and Washington D.C.

She worked for the Navy Ship Yard in Washington D.C. She worked for the Small Business Administration as a secretary retiring after 37 years.

She married Joseph O. Hansen Sr. June 26, 1947, in Camden, S.C. She lived in Bowie, Md., before moving to Carson City in 1996. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Maryland. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Among her survivors are her daughters, Barbara A. Faulk of Severn, Md., Denise M. Brown of Carson City; son, Joseph O. Hansen Jr. of Annapolis, Md.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
