Saturday at D'Vine Wine you can hit the monthly Old Town Wine Walk and also grab a drink at D'Vine Wine and support the Pink Totties. A group of seven women committed to raising $15,000 for The Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation will be your hostess and special guest servers with all tips going to the cause from 4Ð8 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Comstock features something I am sure some of you have never seen, the annual Outhouse Races. It starts at noon with a parade down C Street and jumps right into the double elimination tournament of outhouses racing for a gold metal.

The final heats are scheduled for noon Sunday. An awards ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Sunday following the championship run. If you think you can participate and "run" away with the win, the cost to enter your outhouse is only $100. The favorite to win for those playing the odds, is the flushing four-time winner The Urinator.

Outhouse Races

Who: The VIrginia City Outhouse Races

What: Waste Receptacles racing and a parade

Where: C Street, Virginia City

When: The parade starts at noon on Saturday, championship runs scheduled for Sunday

Cost: $100 if you enter your "Portable Potty" into the race, free to watch

If you and your children want to express your creative side, then drive down to Minden Park and to create a one-of-a-kind scarecrow. The East Fork Gallery provides kits to create your very own scarecrow. Artists will be on hand to assist. There is also face-painting and refreshments available. All proceeds go to the East Fork Gallery, a nonprofit venue supporting local artists.

Jump into fall every Friday and Saturday during the month of October by checking out a pumpkin patch, corn maize and petting zoo, Kiddie Land complete with bouncy house, gold panning, pumpkin carving and coloring, face painting, pig races and a train ride. Head out to the Corley Ranch and get lost in some old-time family fun.

What: Live entertainment, crafts, food and drink vendors. Pumpkin food items for sale and produce that includes pumpkins, sweet corn, Indian corn, corn stalks, watermelons and other varieties of melons, winter squash, gourds and sunflowers

The Western Nevada Performing Arts, a nonprofit organization, is hosting a special fundraiser featuring local talent Gaby Palazzolo and the amazing beautiful dancers from the Western Nevada Performing Arts Center. The event is to raise money for the upcoming trip to perform in Disneyland. Only select performers are even considered to participate. Come join these talented dancers at high tea or a wine flight and dessert and help them reach for the stars.
