What I actually do: We make menu covers and advertising specialties like hats, caps, cups, pens, shirts, anything you can put your name on. We do a lot of stuff for nonprofits, too. We do all the Red Robin dessert presenters.

Family: Wife, Debbie, three stepchildren, and three grandchildren

Where I grew up: Sacramento, Calif.

My first job: Paperboy for the San Francisco Chronicle. I rode my bike to deliver 50 papers with five miles to cover.

How I got it: I lied about my age. You had to be 12 and I was 10, but they needed kids bad.

Favorite pastimes: Being with my wife and grandkids, camping and golfing.

Best advice I ever got: You can only count your real friends on one hand.

What I would do with $1 million: I would probably give half of it to charity and have my wife and me retire before we are 60.

My inspiration: My family and being thankful to be alive and healthy.
