Leota Irene Dial Everson, 87, a 39-year Carson City resident, passed away March 17, 2008, at her home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of Musser and Third Streets.
Leota was born in Kahoka, Mo. and grew up in Austin, Minn. She married B.C. "Bev" Everson May 29, 1943 and the young couple moved to Richmond, Calif. She was an avid gardener and seamstress. She was active in the church and enjoyed volunteering at Carson Tahoe Hospital.
Leota was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Charles Dial and husband, Bev.
Among her survivors are sisters Adeline Cotter of California and Julia Parancott of Michigan; sister-in-law Donna Dial of California; daughters Jeanne Richmond of Carson City and Linda Everson-Sharp of Minden; grandchildren Kevin and Amy Sharp of Silver Springs, Shannon Sharp of Minden, Dalen and Emily Sharp; step-grandchildren Kyle Sharp and Ruth Kielman; numerous nieces and nephews, and many relatives in Washington, Arizona, Michigan, California, Minnesota, and Tennessee.
