A Carson City man was jailed Thursday night following a fight outside of a Lee Street apartment.
Robert Henry, 39, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of battery causing substantial bodily harm.
Police were called to the Van De Mar apartments in the 400 block of Lee Street just after 6 p.m. on the report of an unconscious man.
Emergency crews discovered the unidentified man with a "severe" head injury and lying in a pool of blood nearing the parking area.
Witnesses reported the man, who appears to be in his late 40s or early 50s, was intoxicated and began to argue with another man at the complex.
Police were able to get a description of the suspect and information led them to Winnie Lane where they found Henry behind Long's Drugs just after 7 p.m.
According to Carson City Sheriff's Detective Daniel Gonzales, Henry said the victim was drunk and obnoxious.
"He said the guy was running his mouth and he told him shut up and he wouldn't, so he made him shut up," Gonzales said.
The victim was taken to Lone Mountain Cemetery where a Care Flight helicopter landed to take him to a Reno hospital.
Gonzales said the victim's condition is critical.
Henry's bail was set at $30,000.
