Teen driver education at WNC


Western Nevada College offers a weekend Driver Education course 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturdays, April 26-May 17. Cost is $105. New drivers under age 18 are required to take a 30-hour New Driver Education course if one is offered within a 30-mile radius of their residential address. To register for the non-credit class students must fill out the WNC Community Education Admission Application at www.wnc.edu/academics/continuing_education/drivereducation/ and then mail, fax or bring it in to WNC Carson City, 2201 West College Parkway.


Once this application is processed, normally two days after it is received, students may call 445-4458 or proceed with Web-REG to register.




Carson Library hosts authors


Carson City Library hosts Three Box Sled authors, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 900 N. Roop St. Meet Dennis Cassinelli, author of "Spirit Cave, Preserving Traces of the Great Basin Indians," Marshall Brodeur, author of "Timing Unmasked: An Introduction to Timing for Actors," and Valerie Kneefel, author of "The Magic Cook." Frankie Ferriera will perform acoustic music. For information, call 883-5789.




Computer classes at senior center


Due to increasing demand Carson City Senior Center will hold two introduction to Computer Courses. The first class will meet 9-11 a.m. Monday and Wednesday beginning April 21-May 14. The second class will meet 1 -3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday beginning April 22-May 15. Cost for the class is $40 including materials. The classes are held in the Computer Lab at the Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive. Sign ups are held at the business office of the Senior Center, and classes are filled on a first come-first served basis. For information, call 883-0703, ext. 222.
