Police have identified the two men who were injured in a rollover Sunday in southeast Carson City.
Enrique Garcia, 23, of Minden, and Jesus Martinez, 25, of Carson City, were both taken by helicopter to a Reno hospital following the 7:22 p.m. accident on Golden Eagle Lane.
According to Alexis Bratiotis of Renown Regional Medical Center, Garcia is listed in critical condition and Martinez is listed in fair condition.
Police officials, including Sheriff Ken Furlong, have "heard" that Garcia's head injury left him brain dead and he is being kept on life support so that his organs can be donated. The Nevada Appeal could not confirm that information through either the hospital, Garcia's family or the Nevada Highway Patrol, which is assisting in the accident investigation.
According to Deputy Joe Elefante, officers were called out to the accident at the end of Snyder Avenue by corrections officers at Northern Nevada Correctional Center who reported seeing the burgundy GMC Suburban lose control and roll three times.
It's believed that Garcia was driving. He was ejected from the vehicle and sustained massive head injuries.
Martinez was trapped inside the wreckage and fire crews used airbags to lift the SUV's front end and cut him free.
The vehicle was registered to a Genoa woman, said Furlong.
