Carson City fire crews have extinguished a transformer fire resulting from an earlier explosion of the transformer near Bowers Lane and East Nye Lane.
Fire crews responded after multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting the explosion of the transformer and subsequent fire.
There was a threat to nearby structures. Additionally, Sierra Pacific Power Company was called to the scene.
