Firefighters responded to a blaze Sunday evening at a residence in the Gardnerville Ranchos, leaving it uninhabitable.

The fire at 1321 Mary Jo Drive was reported just after 7 p.m. and was completely ablaze when firefighters arrived, according to East Fork Fire Chief Tod Carlini.

No one was injured.

He said the fire appears to have started in the back of the house, where it was mostly contained, though its shake shingles were continuing to burn.

Firefighters from the Gardnerville Ranchos, Gardnerville, Sheridan Acres, Fish Springs and Ruhenstroth helped fight the blaze as scores of spectators watched.

Mary Jo Drive was closed to allow emergency personnel to work.

No estimate of the monetary damage to the residence was available.
