Retired public employees to meet

Carson symphony elects trustees
The Carson City Symphony Association, Inc., elected trustees for the orchestra's 25th season at its recent annual membership meeting.
Newly elected trustee is Carson City resident Kimberly Greenman, whose son Skyler and daughter Allie play violin in the Symphony's "Strings in the Schools" program.
Trustees Elinor Bugli, president, of Carson City, and Edith Isidoro-Mills, secretary, of Fallon, were reelected for additional three-year terms.
The nine-member board also includes Grant Mills, vice president; Charlotte Tucker, treasurer; Andrew Spieker, Sue Kitts, Norma Summey and Len Hamer.
The Carson City Symphony Association is a nonprofit educational corporation and is the principal support group for the symphony, conducted by David Bugli, the Carson Chamber Singers, directed by Judy Monson, and the "Strings in the Schools" program, directed by Sue Kitts.
The opening concert of the 2008-09 Carson City Symphony season will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 26, with a preview at 3:15 p.m., at the Carson City Community Center. To reserve season tickets, call 883-4154.
Exchange students need host families
Foreign high school students are scheduled to arrive soon for academic semester homestay programs, and the sponsoring organization needs a few more local host families.
The students are all between the ages of 15 and 18 years, are English-speaking, have their own spending money, carry accident and health insurance.

Kid's Klub has openings for fall
Kid's Klub preschool, sponsored by the Carson City Recreation Division, has openings for fall classes for 4- to 5-year-olds on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings; and 3- to 4-year-olds on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Children must be potty trained.
