Carson City government and residents should cut back on water use to keep water supplies at desirable levels, the city public works department said today.
Water levels in city tanks are fine for daily domestic use and fire emergencies, but hot temperatures, declining flows from the west side and reconstruction of the Marlette Lake water system have affected supplies.
Summer watering restrictions are in place because of the season's strain on the water system, not because of a lack of water supply. Water restrictions are in effect from June 1 to September 30th including:
- No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 a.m.
- No watering on Mondays.
- The watering schedule is three days per week, the last number of your address determines your odd or even status. Odd watering days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Even watering days are Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
