Pat Golman, 80, a Carson City area resident for the past 20 years, and former Gardnerville resident for the previous 14 years, died Aug. 14, 2008 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center from pneumonia. One of six children, she was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Following the death of her mother at a young age, Pat, her two brothers and youngest sister were raised in an orphanage in North Carolina. She always recalled growing up there as a wonderful experience.
Pat was an avid walker, who also enjoyed listening to country music, cooking and, until recent years, creating beautiful framed needlework and afghans.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, Frank Golman, her two brothers, Roland and Chase and her son-in-law Tom.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Leslie and Michele, son-in-law, Mark and her three sisters, Gertie, Dess and Bette, as well as many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
In addition to the relatives she leaves behind, Pat loved the many close friends and neighbors who were the mainstay of her daily life. She will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her.
A celebration of Pat's life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Barium Springs Home for Children, P.O. Box 1, Barium Springs, NC 28010 or to Macular Degeneration Foundation Inc. P.O. Box 531313, Henderson, NV 89053
