RENO " A former Washoe County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to three years probation on his guilty plea to possessing child pornography.
Paul Kistner, 36, also was ordered to stay away from children, the Internet, and to register as a sex offender under the sentence handed down by Washoe District Judge Robert Perry.
Kistner, a deputy for 12 years, was arrested this summer after his wife installed spyware on his computer when she became suspicious of the time he spent online with the door closed.
She turned the computer over to authorities when the spyware revealed he had been visiting child pornography Web sites.
