Reno Bighorns lose to Anaheim

ANAHEIM - Despite a combined 43 points from Damone Brown and Antonio Meeking, the Reno Bighorns dropped a 116-113 decision to the Anaheim Arsenal at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The win was Anaheim's first against two losses. Reno, which blew an eight-point lead in the final 4 1/2 minutes, dropped to 1-2.

Brown had a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Meeking added 20 points.

Brown scored Reno's last seven points of the half to give the Bighorns a 57-53 lead.

A Russell Robinson free throw, a driving layup by Meeking and a pair of free throws by Brown gave Reno an 82-75 lead with 1:52 left in the third quarter.

Two free throws by James White (29 points) and a jump shot by Tierre Brown (22 points) trimmed Reno's lead to 86-84 after three periods.

A free throw by Meeking gave Reno a 107-99 lead with 4:37 remaining.

Mike Efevberha, who finished with 19 points off the bench, scored four points in 53 seconds to slice Reno's lead to 107-103.

Jamaal Thomas made two free throws to extend Reno's lead to 109-103, but Efevberha made two layups and a free throw to trim the lead to 109-108.

Two more free throws by Efevberha and a layup by Tierre Brown gave Anaheim a 112-111 lead with 1:18 to go, and Reno was never able to regain the lead.
