Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
- Scottie Vannort, 40, a painter from Reno, was arrested at 8:25 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of felony fourth-degree arson and assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $25,000.
- Christopher Cox, 27, a tree trimmer from Ione, Calif., was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner. Bail was set at $10,000.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
- A convertible roof was cut through and items stolen from a car in the 500 block of North Carson Street at 3:05 a.m.
- Items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2700 block of South Carson Street at 6:09 a.m.
- Report of marijuana found at Carson Middle School at 9:51 a.m. A student was arrested.
- Vehicle burglary report in the 800 block of North Carson Street at 10:03 a.m.
- A 1993 brown Honda Accord was stolen from Capital Auto Sales in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East sometime before 12:43 p.m.
- Report of marijuana found on a student at Carson Middle School at 1:36 p.m. The student was arrested.
- Residential burglary report on Voltaire Street at 1:48 p.m.
- Accident at West Telegraph and Minnesota streets at 2:53 p.m.
Lyon County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
- Misdemeanor arrest on Highway 339 in Mason Valley at 1:22 a.m.
- Misdemeanor arrest on Highway 95 Alternate in Mason Valley at 1:39 a.m.
- A Fernley landlord reported that her tenants on Silver Way moved out of their fully furnished rental home, taking with them the furnishings.
- Report of a man cashing another man's winnings out of a slot machine on Logan Lane in Fernley at 6:30 p.m.
