Flu shots still available

Seasonal flu vaccinations are still available through Carson City Health and Human Services.

Vaccinations are available 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Carson City Health Clinic, 900 E. Long St. Flu shots cost $20 and flu mists cost $25.

This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week.

Symptoms of the flu virus include sneezing, stuffiness, fever, body aches, sore throat, severe headaches and extreme tiredness, Carson City Health and Human Services Director Marena Works said in a statement.

February and early March see the highest number of reports for flu, according to Works.
