The Capitol at Washington is to be lighted by electricity. The invention is that of Mr. Rodgers, electrician of the building. Four machines will illuminate the Hall of Representatives, and replace thirteen hundred gas jets. The cost of the new light is ten cents an hour.

Mrs. Peter Amodei is giving a party in celebration of her daughter Roberta's sixth birthday and sharing in the happy event are Susan Shedd, Shirley and Ruth Thom, Dorothy Berger, Marian Herberth, Rae Meginness, Jeanette Horan, Barbara Hall, Elaine Little, Francis Butt, Haroldene and Marilyn Brooke and Shirley Amodei.

Set for investigation is the condition of the grave of the famed Indian basketmaker at Stewart. Clark J. Guild reported that the site was designated only by a wooden marker, and proposed that the club make arrangements for a suitable gravestone. Dat-So-La-Lee was responsible for bringing a great deal of fame to Carson City for her incredible basket making.

Photo caption: Veronica Spurlock of Carson City beamed with joy upon learning that she was the winner of the 1989 Miss Carson City Scholarship Pageant. She also won the Miss Congeniality Award and took top honors in the talent competition with her performance of a baton routine to the song "They're Playing Our Song." Gina Lopez, 17, was the first runner up in the contest.
