RENO " Washoe County commissioners have voted to limit the number of homes that can be built on about 600 acres in scenic Washoe Valley south of Reno.
In updating the development plan for the area, commissioners voted to allow only five-acre lots on the property, allowing for 90 to 112 homes.
Owner Les Weston had wanted up to 176 homes, an option that was endorsed by the county planning commission.
But residents feared the denser zoning would have allowed the owner to apply for city services, including municipal water and sewer.
