Retailers Kohl's and Forever 21 announced Friday they are buying 46 former Mervyns department store locations, but this doesn't include the closed Mervyns in Carson City.
Kohl's bought 31 former Mervyns locations in the $6.25 million deal and Forever 21 bought 15 locations.
Kohl's will take over two South Nevada locations in Henderson and Nellis Crossing, according to Kristen Cunningham, a representative with the department store chain.
Mervyns announced it was closing its 3871 S. Carson St. in August. The Hayward, Calif.-based chain later announced it was closing all of its 175 stores.
The former 60,700-square-foot Mervyns building in Carson City was built in 1983. It is owned by Beachwood, Ohio-based Developers Diversified Realty.
Besides the two Nevada locations, Kohl's is moving into 27 California locations and one each location in Texas and Utah.
