Reports of the odor of natural gas prompted Carson City Fire Department officials to evacuate the Aquatic and Community centers at the corner of Roop and William streets just after 6:30 p.m.

Moments before that call, the fire department was called to the Department of Motor Vehicles on Wright Way also for a gas leak. That one was deemed unfounded.

Sheriff Ken Furlong said dispatchers are getting reports of a "rolling odor of gas" from Koontz Street to William Street on the east side of Highway 395.

As of 7:12 p.m. nothing has been found, he said.
