The Bureau of Land Management is asking the public's help in identifying who tore up the land and broke through a fence at the Silver Saddle Ranch off River Road over the weekend.
Evidence at the scene indicates that on Saturday night, a four-wheel drive vehicle drove down into the Silver Saddle Ranch from an area closed to off-road vehicles on Prison Hill, according to a BLM news release.
When the driver reached the ranch, the road was closed off by a gate, so the driver drove his vehicle through the boundary fence adjacent to the main visitor gate.
The fence was destroyed and had to be replaced, the release states.
The Silver Saddle Ranch, along with the northern portion of Prison Hill Recreation Area, are closed to motorized vehicles. Hiking, horseback riding and mountain bikes are allowed.
Anyone with information on the vandalism Saturday is asked to call the BLM law enforcement at 885-6000.
