ELKO " A former Elko police officer has been arrested on charges of incest and using a minor in the production of child pornography.
Elko County sheriff's deputies took former Capt. Aaron Hughes into custody at the courthouse Thursday immediately after Hughes was bound over to district court to face unrelated charges of grand larceny.
The new charges allege Hughes had sexual relations with a blood relative.
Elko County Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McKinney told the Elko Daily Free Press the child pornography charge stems from a videotape that was downloaded onto a computer.
Hughes was arrested in August for allegedly trying to steal off-road vehicles and equipment from a closed mine site near Elko. He resigned from the Elko police force in September.
